Will it fit my monitor?

Ambit 2 is built for monitors between 24 and 27 inches — the most common desk sizes.

Measure the back of your monitor, not the screen diagonal. Run a tape along the back panel edge to edge and check it falls in range. Screen size and back panel size aren't the same number, and this is the most common sizing mistake.

Larger monitor? Phantom G1 covers up to 40 inches in two variants, including curved panels.

Ambit 2 connects to your PC's ARGB header, so your monitor backlight runs in step with the rest of your build — case fans, RAM, cooler, everything lit from the same profile instead of three systems fighting each other.

Check your motherboard's ARGB compatibility on the manufacturer's site for your specific model before you buy.

Effects that react to how you play

In gaming mode, lighting effects trigger on keystrokes and mouse clicks — the backlight responds to what you're doing, not just what's on screen. Beyond that you get five preset dynamic modes tuned for gaming, film and work, and the option to build your own.

You can also assign individual colours to each LED point, so the strip runs a gradient or a fixed pattern instead of one flat shade.

White light mode for work

Switch to soft white illumination when you're working. It lifts the contrast between a bright screen and a dark room, which makes long sessions easier on your eyes — the same principle behind bias lighting in home cinema setups.

That makes Ambit 2 useful outside gaming hours, not just an RGB toy.

Runs on Mitsuko Smart Connect

Ambit 2 is controlled from Mitsuko Smart Connect, our desktop software, which runs on both Windows and macOS. Screen sync, colours, brightness, effects and custom modes all live there — everything controlled from the machine you're already sitting at.

Download it free from our site. Basic lighting works the moment you plug the strip in; the software is what unlocks sync and customisation.

Installing it

1. Clean the back of your monitor. The adhesive needs a dust-free surface — this is the difference between a strip that stays up for years and one that peels in a month.
2. Peel and stick the LED strip around the back panel edge, working one side at a time.
3. Plug the USB-A connector into your PC or laptop.
4. For motherboard sync, connect to your ARGB header instead.
5. Download and install Mitsuko Smart Connect, then pick your mode.

Common questions

Do I need a sync box or streaming device?

No. Ambit 2 reads your screen directly through your computer. HDMI sync boxes are for TV setups, where the video signal has to pass through a box on its way to the screen.

Is there a phone app?

No. Ambit 2 is controlled from Mitsuko Smart Connect on your computer. Our TV backlight kits and Fantasia wall lights are the ones that use a phone app.

Will it work on macOS?

Yes. Smart Connect runs on both Windows and macOS.

Does the ARGB sync work with any motherboard?

It works with standard ARGB headers, but header specifications vary between manufacturers. Check your motherboard model on the manufacturer's site before ordering if this is the feature you're buying it for.

Does it affect gaming performance?

No. Screen reading is lightweight and won't cost you frames.
