Extend screen sync beyond your TV

An RGB LED strip that takes colour from your AmbiMotion sync box wirelessly and puts it wherever you want it — around a ceiling line, behind a sofa, up a corner, along a shelf. The same screen, driving light across the whole room instead of one wall.

It connects over WiFi, so there's no cable running from your TV to wherever you've mounted it.

What's in the box

The sync box is not included. This is an add-on for an existing AmbiMotion setup, not a standalone kit. If you don't already own one, start with a TV backlight kit — the sync box comes with those.

Cut it to fit

The strip can be cut to length at the marked cut points, so it fits the run you actually have rather than leaving you tucking away a spare metre behind a shelf.

Measure the full path first, including corners, and add a little slack before you cut. Cutting short is not reversible.

Put it anywhere

The strip is flexible enough to follow most runs:

• Around the back of a TV as a second layer of backlight
• Along a ceiling line or in a false ceiling cove
• Behind a sofa or bed frame for indirect floor-level light
• Up a corner or along a shelf edge to add depth to a room

Because it connects wirelessly, mounting position isn't limited by cable reach from the sync box.

Real-time colour, no delay

Colour changes as the picture changes, not a beat behind it. A scene cut lands on the strip at the same moment it lands on screen, which is what makes ambient lighting feel connected to what you're watching rather than decorative.

Installing it

1. Plan the full run and measure it, including corners. Cut only at the marked cut points.
2. Clean the surface. Adhesive backing needs it dry, dust-free and fully cured — give freshly painted walls a few weeks.
3. Press the strip down along its whole length, working a section at a time rather than unpeeling everything at once.
4. Use corner connectors to turn a right angle rather than folding the strip on itself.
5. Connect the sub controller to WiFi through the Smart Life app and pair it with your AmbiMotion sync box.

Common questions

Is a sync box included?

No. You get the strip, sub controller and power adapter. Screen sync needs an AmbiMotion sync box, which comes with our TV backlight kits.

Can I really cut it?

Yes, at the marked cut points only. Cutting anywhere else breaks the circuit.

Which app do I need?

Smart Life, free on the Play Store and App Store. Our monitor products use different software, so make sure you're downloading the right one.

Will it stay stuck to a ceiling?

On a clean, cured surface, yes. Ceilings are less forgiving than walls though — press firmly along the full length and consider clips at intervals on longer runs.
